I’m Johannes, born in 1994, and I work professionally as an educator. Music has fascinated me since my childhood, especially playing the guitar and singing. For many years, I have been active in various church pop bands, and in 2014, I started performing solo with my own songs, although I never properly recorded them until recently.
In 2020, I unexpectedly had to pause my musical passion due to an ear infection that led to tinnitus, and in 2021, I suffered from a severe vocal cord inflammation. These health setbacks were significant challenges, but I did not give up. It was a long and intense journey back to music, requiring a lot of determination and even more training. I documented this journey on YouTube, producing songs and music videos to share my progress and passion.
In 2023, I connected with music producer Chris Lass from Bremen. His expertise and coaching for music producers have been incredibly helpful. Thanks to his support, I was able to record, produce, mix, and master my first album, "Don't Give Up." This experience was immensely rewarding and showed me that perseverance and hard work pay off. The first single from the album was released in June 2024, and the full album on November 22, 2024.
My Music and I
From the recorder to the organ, I eventually landed on the guitar. I fell in love with this instrument and have stuck with it. I’ve been singing my whole life. However, my interest in other instruments never waned, and I play practically anything that comes into my hands, such as the piano, cajon, saxophone, bass, ukulele, and mandolin.
Stylistically, I would categorize myself as a Singer-Songwriter, but I have significant influences from Folk, Indie-Folk, Pop, Pop-Rock, Lo-Fi HipHop, Gospel, and Worship. This variety is reflected in my songs, which go in very different directions. But isn't that what makes music exciting?
Releases
Since 2014, I have released over 80 music videos. It all started with my first original songs, recorded in the "Eishaus". These early works mark the beginning of my musical journey. Later, I ventured into covering well-known songs from the pop world, showcasing my versatility as a musician.
In June 2024, it was time for a new milestone: the release of my first single "Dark Seasons Pass By". After a hiatus during which no new videos were released, this song marks a new chapter in my musical development.
The pinnacle of this exciting chapter came on November 22, 2024, when my debut album Don't Give Up was finally presented to the world. This collection of songs is the result of years of hard work, dedication, and personal growth. I’m grateful to have the opportunity to share it with you.
Live Performances
For many years, I have been performing live and have played several hundred concerts. It started with the church pop band "Colours of Life" and later with "Leuchtfeuer". However, most of my performances took place in spontaneously formed ensembles with a variety of musicians. This diversity brought me very instructive experiences and helped me to further develop as a musician.
In addition, I have often worked as a sound engineer and accompanied various bands and gospel choirs. This activity deepened my understanding of the technical aspects of music production and gave me valuable insights into the world of live sound.
At some point, I took the stage with my own solo pieces. Here, too, I often performed alone, but also with different accompaniments, depending on what the respective piece required.
Currently, there are no performances or concerts planned, but I am happy to accept inquiries and look forward to future musical projects.
